Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is a captivating history to the Cambodia casinos that lie just over the dividing line from nearby Thailand, where gambling den gaming is illegal. Eight gambling dens are based in a generally small area in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia gambling halls is in a perfect area, a three to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular gaming locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a huge business with Thai laborers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The phenomenal income acquired from the gambling halls ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over 12.5 million, and there are a number of restrictions requirements for gambling den ownership. Ownership is required to be largely Thai; however, investment sources are cryptic. The borders are officially open from 0900 to 17:00, and even though visas are allegedly needed to pass, there are methods around this, as is real of most border crossings.
The initial Cambodia casinos premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only a single gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored barge gambling den, highlights 150 slot machine games and sixty gaming tables. The Naga casino never closes with forty two tables of mini-punto banco, 4 tables of vingt-et-un, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The initial gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown soon followed. A total of 150 slot machines and five tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machine games and 68 table games at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred slot machines and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and 96 gaming tables, including eighty seven punto banco (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 one armed bandits and 66 of the familiar table games, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 casinos in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slots and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-inclusive resort and hotel compound that contains a number of luxuries on top of the gambling den, which contains ten thousand square feet of one hundred and thirty one armed bandits and eighty eight table games.
